Citric acid import data

Citric acid is a very import component used in food and beverage industry. It is basically extracted from citrus fruits like orange, lemon, grapefruits, etc. it has great health benefits and hence is used largely in manufacturing juices and medicinal liquids. It is also used in the production of certain insecticides
and alcohol. India is a country where the normal diet will definitely contain any food item that contains citric acid or its traces. Hence, the demand for citric acid in the country has been abundant since a very long time. 

Indian Citric acid import data reveal during the month of June’14 imports worth $ 2,178,613 were bought into the country. Of the total imports, $ 97% of the import was from China which evidently is the largest exporter of citric acid to India. India also imports citric acid from other countries namely, Germany, United States, Italy, Canada, New Zealand, etc. Chinese imports of citric acid amount to a whopping $2,111,786. More than half of the imports of citric acid are received at JNPT with other minor ports like Delhi, Ludhiana, Madras and Ahmedabad also receiving small shares. The average monthly import of citric acid is estimated at $ 242,068. Citric acid is of great use to local suppliers of food and beverage produce. They can identify prospective buyers for their products from this compiled data.
