Lactulose import data



India’s total import of Lactulose during the month of June’2014 amounted to $ 923,527. JNPT accrued 66% of the imports while Calcutta and Goa ports received 25% and 8% of the import share. The average worth of Lactulose is estimated at $ 184,705. India imports Lactulose from five countries namely, Italy, Austria, South Africa, Germany and Egypt.
Italy is the largest exporter of Lactulose to India with an estimated export worth $539 049. Three varieties of the product are imported currently of which Lactulose solution ranks as the most imported. Lactulose has wide medicinal applications. It is used a raw material in formulating medicines used to fight liver infections and diseases. Lactulose solution is basically a watered down solution of the acid and has great demand from pharmaceutical companies.
