During the month of June’2014 to July’2014 India imported pine wood worth of USD 2,253,258. Germany is the leading exporter of pine wood to Indian with a whopping export value of $986,449 amounting to 44% of the country’s total pine wood import. United States and Russia trail behind shortly with $293, 794 and $228,025 worth of import. These countries account for 13%
and 10% of the total imports into the country during the period. Mundra, JNPT and Calcutta Sea port are the major Indian ports where the imports were destined. Mundra receives 57% of the total pine wood imports into India whereas JNPT and Calcutta Sea Port receive 11% and 8% respectively. Pine wood import data hint at an average $160,947 worth of import during the period.
